After the 2012 London Olympics, the Government committed funding to every school in order to enhance sports provision and increased competition. Swimming statistics for 2024 2025 Cohort

52% of year 6 can swim 25m

32% of year 6 can use strokes effectively 

All children swam in clothes and were taught how to self-rescue.
