Lunchtimes including Menu

Our lunchtimes are times when children have their meals and also have time to be outside.  We have a team of trained, positive, empathetic and enthusiastic Midday Supervisors.  There are Craze weeks, different play zones and we are a skipping school.  We want to give children time to play but also learn social skills, make new friends and in some case's lead play for other children.  Our play leaders from Year 5 and 6 support this.

We feel that school meals are an important part of the school day.  Not only do they help children to socialise appropriately, but also offer them the opportunity to practise using a knife and fork.

School meals currently cost £3.00.

Our school provides catering in house.  We provide meals which adhere to the national standards for nutrition.  Our children also take part in suggesting dishes for our menus.

NEW MENU for SEPTEMBER 2026

We are pleased to share our new Primary School Menu, which will be introduced from Thursday 3rd September 2026.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting children's health and wellbeing, we have updated our menus to reflect the latest school food guidance and best practice in healthy eating.

One of the main changes you will notice is a reduction in the frequency of sweet puddings and desserts. While these will still be available on selected days, they will be offered less often and balanced with a greater variety of nutritious alternatives, including fresh fruit, yoghurt, and other healthier options.

These changes are designed to encourage healthy eating habits from an early age while continuing to provide enjoyable, balanced meals that children look forward to each day. Our menus continue to meet the nutritional standards required for school meals and have been carefully planned to ensure children receive a varied and satisfying lunch.

We understand that some children have favourite desserts, and we appreciate your support as we introduce these changes. Our catering team remains committed to preparing meals that are both nutritious and appealing, and we hope pupils will enjoy trying the new options available.

Please find the new menu enclosed. We encourage you to take a look through it with your child, so they know what to expect when the new menu begins.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us promote healthy eating across our schools.
